Welcome to my website! I am a Lecturer in Economics at University of Sydney and a Senior Data Analyst at the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare. I am also a Visiting Fellow at the Research School of Economics, Australian National University.
Prior to that I worked as a Lecturer and as a Senior Lecturer at the Australian National University (2019 - 2024).
I am passionate about using advanced statistical methods to address real-world problems with policy impact. Over my career trajectory, I have successfully combined teaching and research in econometrics, economics and finance in academia and industry.
With eight years of teaching experience at the Australian National University and University of Sydney, I consistently receive excellent student feedback (most recently 4.6/5). What I enjoy most in my teaching is getting to know the students as individual learners and supporting them on their learning journey.
My research interests include economics of education, health economics and Islamic finance. I have published 21 research outputs, including ten peer-reviewed academic journal articles, and have secured over $1.5 million in research funding as a sole or co-investigator since 2019.
